The Planet Ice NIHL National Owners Group met last week to finalise the structure and dates for the 2022-23 National League campaign. The league will comprise of eleven teams playing 56 regular season games, followed by the Playoffs and Finals Weekend.

  • Eleven teams playing 56 games each
  • Each team plays home and away 3 times, except that each team drops two home and two away games to make up the 56-game season. These games have been decided on a semi-random basis, taking account of longest road trips
  • In the case of the Pitbulls, we will welcome Hull and Milton Keynes to Bristol twice whilst only travelling to Raiders and Peterborough twice

Season dates are as follows;

  • Pre-season games on 2/3/4 & 9/10/11 September (further details to follow)
  • League season commences 17/18 September
  • Regular season ends 1/2 April
  • Playoff QFs April 8/9 (1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5)
  • Playoff Finals Weekend in Coventry 15/16 April

Full fixture lists will be released in the next few weeks once the planning has been finalised. We are all excited for our expanded eleven team Planet Ice NIHL National and can’t wait to get started.
