The schedule for the 2022-23 Planet Ice NIHL National League season has today been released and the Bristol Honda Pitbulls will open the season in The Pound on Saturday 17th of September against the Raiders.

The opening weekend also sees the Pitbulls visit the 21-22 NIHL National winning Telford Tigers on Sunday 18th of September.

The first competitive West Country Derby will be in The Pound, currently pencilled in for Friday 14th of October, although this date is TBC. Our first trip to Swindon is on Sunday 23rd of October.

Our Christmas/New Year schedule sees us playing two doubleheaders. We host Telford on December 27th, before travelling to Shropshire the following night. We spent New Year’s Eve in Swindon before welcoming the Wildcats to Bristol on New Year’s Day.

The final weekend of the season (April 1st/2nd) sees us host the Peterborough Phantoms before travelling to face the Telford Tigers.

Looking ahead to the regular season, Jamie Elson said, “This is always an exciting part of the summer, having the teams’ fixtures confirmed and going live. It starts to make the season ahead seem just around the corner and I’m sure there will be plenty of people starting to look at the schedule to pick out certain games that they are looking forward to. For us it’s another step towards our first ever National League campaign and I think we can all feel the buzz that’s beginning to build. We can’t wait for the first weekend of preseason to come around and I know these few weeks will fly by.”

The full schedule is available HERE. Our first home and road games against each team also double-up as cup games, with the standings of those games deciding the semi finals of the National Cup. Home face-off times remain the same as last season, meaning Saturdays will be a 19:00 start, and Sundays will be a 17:30 puck drop.
