A weekend on the road for the Bristol Pitbulls as they prepare themselves to face the Swindon Wildcats on Saturday evening at the Link Centre and then make the trip to the Sapphire on Sunday evening to face the Raiders IHC. 

Swindon Wildcats 

The Wildcats are currently occupying 3rd within the league standings after in the 46 games they have completed they have been able to secure 63 points from winning 30 games, losing 13 and having 3 go to overtime but falling short in the final stages. Swindon are going into this weekend on a 3 game losing streak after losing to the Bees IHC and Leeds Knights last weekend and then losing to the Leeds Knights again on Friday night at the Link Centre. 

The power play that the Wildcats have put out in their 46 games completed has been 31% effective as they have successfully used 55 out of 179 man advantage chances, while their penalty kill is 78% effective as they have managed to successfully kill 132 out of the 169 they have found themselves short-handed in games. There have been 9 short-handed goals scored by Swindon this season, which have been scored by Tomasz Malaskinski, Aaron Nell, Glenn Billing, Gael Lubwele and Russell Cowley. But on the other side, there have been 7 short-handed goals scored against the Wildcats this season by teams across the league. 

There have been a total of 1,397 shots on goal against the Swindon Wildcats in the games they have completed so far and are currently facing an average of 31 shots on goal against their netminder per game. The Wildcats have been able to have 1,514 shots on goal on opposing netminders across the league and are averaging 35 shots on goal each game. Swindon have had 163 goals scored against them while also being able to score 211 goals this season. 

Going into this fixture, the Pitbulls will need to keep a close eye on players like Chris Jones and Balint Pakozdi. Chris Jones has been a big player for the Wildcats this season by stepping up in situations to help his team create offensive chances and while doing this has been able to collect 50 points from scoring 18 goals and having 32 assists.  He has managed to score 5 times while the Wildcats have been on the power play and also scored 3 game winning goals. Balint Pakozdi has had a standout season for the Wildcats as he has been able to secure 34 points from 10 goals and 24 assists with 4 of his goals coming from power play chances. 

Raiders IHC

The Raiders currently sit in 7th place within the league standings with 41 points after winning 17 games, losing 21 and losing 7 games in overtime in their 45 games they have completed this season. The Raiders are going into this weekend after a 2 point weekend after losing to the Hull Seahawks and then beating the Solway Sharks. 

The power play that the Raiders have been putting  out in their 45 games completed has been 24% effective for them as they have been able to successfully use 41 out of 171 man advantages that they have found themselves with this season, while their penalty kill has been 72% effective for them this season as they have been able to shut down 131 out of 182 times where they have found themselves short-handed in games. The Raiders have been able to score 3 short-handed goals this season that have been scored by Brandon Ayliffe and George Norcliffe. But on the other side of things, there have been 13 short-handed goals scored against the Raiders so far this season. 

There have been a total of 1,526 shots on goal against the netminders that have played for the Raiders this season with an average of them facing 34 shots on goal per game. The Raiders have been able to test netminders across the league a total of 1,630 times with them roughly having 36 shots on goal per game. 204 goals have hit the back of the Raiders goal this season but there have been 189 goals scored by the Raiders this season. 

Going into Sunday’s fixture, Bristol will need to watch out for Tjay Anderson and Adam Laishram. Tjay Anderson has had an amazing season for the Raiders with him being able to secure 29 points with 21 of those being from goals and the other 8 being from assists. He is a big part of creating chances for the Raiders while they are on the power play and the Pitbulls will need to watch out for this. Adam Laisram is the top point scorer for the Raiders this season as he has been able to collect 71 points from 33 goals and 38 assists and has been able to score 5 game winning goals for the Raiders and could easily make the difference on Sunday.
