The Bristol Honda Pitbulls are pleased to confirm that veteran forward Bari McKenzie will be returning for his third season with the club.

Last season Bari McKenzie was able to collect 38 points in 51 games by scoring 10 goals and getting 28 assists. Bari brings a wealth of experience to the lineup after icing for Fife Flyers, Braehead Clan, Dundee Stars and many other teams throughout his career.

Richie Hargreaves shared his thoughts on the re-signing:

ā€œBaz’s return is a big gain for us once again. You simply can’t overlook his experience and deep understanding of the game. Having been a key part of the Elite League circuit for much of his career, he brings the kind of leadership and insight I’ve been clear we need more of moving forward.

Bari still has a vital role to play with this new-look squad. I’ll be leaning on him—as will his teammates—for smart decisions in key moments. He’s incredibly versatile, with the hockey IQ to adapt wherever he’s needed.

Last season, he came up with some crucial goals at big moments, and I believe with more depth in the lineup this year, we can build on that success.

There will, however, be a shift in Bari’s role. He’s stepping back from his previous head coach responsibilities to focus more on contributing as a player. It wasn’t an easy decision for him, and I admire that—it speaks volumes about his character and commitment to the club.

That said, he’ll still be involved in a assistant coaching capacity, helping me with team preparations and offering his experience off the ice as well.ā€

With Bari’s leadership, on-ice awareness, and passion for the game, we’re confident he’ll be a key figure in our push for success this season.

šŸŽ‰ Welcome back, Baz!

🧠 The club also confirms that discussions are ongoing to appoint a new Head Coach, with an announcement expected shortly.
