Pitbulls Lose Out On Points To The Seahawks

The Bristol Drive North Pitbulls fell to a 6-2 loss on home ice against the Hull Seahawks on Saturday in a matchup that saw the visitors take a strong four-goal lead in the final period.

Both teams looked eager for opportunities to open the scoring; however, it wasn’t until fourteen minutes into the first period that Emil Svec could fire a clean shot past Tommy Nappier, breaking the deadlock and giving the visitors the first lead of the evening heading into the second period.

Pitbulls were able to respond and equalise early on in the second period as John Dunbar capitalised on their puck possession, cutting past Jordan McLaughlin to get them level on the scoreboard. Despite this, the Seahawks were able to regain control as they continued to apply pressure in their offensive zone, with Johnny Corneil restoring their initial lead.

Tanner Butler made it two apiece just under five minutes into the final period; however, it wasn’t long before the Seahawks headed on a goal spree, scoring four unanswered goals back to back. Bobby Chamberlain got the third, chased by Richard Hartmann scoring the fourth just under a minute later, gifting them a two-goal cushion. A penalty followed for the visitors, but this couldn’t slow down their momentum, as both Jordan Stallard and Josh Hodgkinson brought the puck down through neutral ice before Lee Bonner could strengthen the lead to three. Hartmann still had one left in him, however, getting his second goal of the night and securing the final scoreline at 6-2.
