FISHER JOINS THE PACK

The Drive North Bristol Pitbulls are delighted to announce the signing of experienced Canadian Robbie Fisher ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Fisher arrives in Bristol following a season playing professionally in Europe as a defenceman, adding further experience to an already impressive career. Throughout his time in professional hockey, Robbie has earned a reputation as a versatile player, capable of playing at an high level both as a forward and on the blue line.

Originally from Kenora, Ontario, Fisher progressed through the AJHL before playing USports hockey with Wilfrid Laurier University. He then enjoyed an outstanding professional career with the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL, where he became one of the league’s most dependable two-way players.

Across 211 regular season games for Huntsville, Fisher recorded 50 goals and 40 assists for 90 points, while proving his value in every situation. Trusted to play both defence and forward, he became a key part of the Havoc’s success through his versatility, leadership and consistency.

Fisher elevated his game even further in the playoffs . In 20 playoff appearances, he registered 13 points, including two game-winning goals and two shorthanded goals, establishing himself as a player who thrives under pressure. His memorable game-winning goal during the 2024 playoffs is just one example of his ability to produce in the biggest moments.

Away from the scoresheet, Fisher is renowned for his old-school work ethic, professionalism and leadership. Having worn a letter during his career and earned the respect of teammates and coaches alike, he leads by example every day and will provide invaluable experience to Bristol’s exciting young squad.

Another exciting aspect of the signing is Fisher’s reunion with Dylan Stewart. The pair spent large parts of their time together in Huntsville playing on the same line, developing great chemistry while helping drive the team’s offence. That familiarity should allow them to hit the ground running in Bristol.

“We took our time with our final signing because we wanted to make sure we ticked every box. From the very first conversations I had with Robbie, what stood out most was his attitude towards the game. It quickly became clear why he’s been trusted as a leader everywhere he’s played, and that’s going to be huge for our dressing room. Robbie’s versatility will be a massive asset for us this season. He’s a player you can use in every situation whether that’s on the power play creating traffic in front of the net, on the blue line, closing out games, or killing penalties. That kind of flexibility is invaluable.
I don’t want to undersell Robbie either. He’s scored some big goals throughout his career, His playoff numbers speak for themselves and shows he’s a player who performs when the pressure is at its highest. The fact he’s been relied upon to play both forward and defence throughout his career tells you everything you need to know about his hockey IQ and understanding of the game.

It’s also great to bring in someone who already has chemistry with Dylan Stewart. The pair spent large parts of their time together in Huntsville playing on the same line and enjoyed a lot of success together. Having that familiarity from day one is a real bonus for us. Adding someone with Robbie’s experience, leadership and character to our young group is incredibly important. He’ll make us a better team on the ice, but just as importantly, he’ll make everyone around him better as well. I’m excited about having a player like Robbie in our line-up, and we’re delighted to welcome Robbie and his family to Bristol.”
